  • Refrain from consuming alcohol, caffeine and energy drinks 24 hours prior to the procedure. Avoid taking any blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, gingko biloba or evening primrose unless medically necessary. You can resume taking these medications immediately after the procedure. In addition, avoid sunbathing;
  • Do not bite or scrape your lips, they should be as intact and moisturized as possible;
  • On the day of the procedure, avoid consuming stimulating drinks like coffee and avoid overly salty foods to minimize swelling;
  • Refrain from undergoing anti-aging treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser procedures, or botox injections for 2-3 weeks prior to your appointment;
  • Apply a lip mask or a thin layer of healing moisturizer ointment at night.

Failure to adhere to these instructions may result in pigment color loss.

  • On the day of the procedure, clean your lips with cotton pads and bottled water every hour, and apply a thin layer of ointment;
  • Apply a thin layer of ointment regularly for 4-5 days;
  • For the first 24 hours, drink colorful drinks through a straw;
  • On the day after the procedure, do not drink alcoholic beverages, do not eat too salty and spicy food;
  • Do not touch, chew, or lick your lips;
  • Do not use the sauna for 2-3 weeks;
  • For a month, refrain from whitening your teeth, making injections in the lips, and visiting the solarium.
  • Avoid sunbathing or direct sun. You can use a sunscreen with SPF50 after the crusts are gone.
  • On the second day, a thin scab or crust will form. It looks like intense makeup and doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. This will last for 3 to 7 days.
  • As the lips heal, the color will become lighter. Immediately after the disappearance of the crust, the pigment may seem very pale. This is due to the fact that your skin is now in the active regeneration stage. It takes approximately 1 month for the color to fully set in.
  • After the first treatment, the color will fade by about 20-40 percent as the lips heal.
  • Touch up is carried out 30 to 60 days after the initial procedure.
